Job Description:

This is a critical role that will report directly to the Chief of Staff to CEO - Head of Strategy & Innovation, and play a crucial role in impacting the growth of Shipt and ensuring that it is functioning optimally to achieve its vision and associated goals.

Your Responsibilities


  • Lead a high-performing team in refining and executing Shipt’s strategy & maintaining a holistic point of view on the competitive landscape


  • Conduct environment scans that inform business leaders about changes affecting Shipt’s strategic goals, focusing on long-term trends, outlook, and competitive intelligence


  • Provide support to Chief of Staff on annual strategic planning process and work with leaders across the company to develop long-range strategic plans


  • Implement efficient and effective processes to drive annual and quarterly planning and to develop our annual, 3-year and 5-year strategic plans to grow the business


  • Organize, align, and drive strategic priorities with the Exec Leadership Team, including identifying executive leaders to drive initiatives across Shipt


  • Facilitate the company’s nascent OKR program, as well as the tracking and resolution of executive issues, action items and KPIs


  • Ease decision making by striving to provide full information at point of decision and by serving as a reliable, trusted, and objective channel for all stakeholders


  • Manage and own key operational and business planning processes, including evolving operating rhythms, coordinating strategic meetings, documentation and deliverables; working with administrative support staff on scheduling; and driving the right agendas and appropriate follow-up across the Shipt executive team. 


  • Operate as proxy for Chief of Staff in business operations not requiring her direct engagement, and help provide project management over executive planning, execution, and communications.


  • Support the Chief of Staff with ad-hoc projects as needed – Drive highly visible strategic projects, working cross-functionally to structure problems, analyze opportunities, and develop solutions and actionable recommendations and results through a rigorous, data-driven process


  • Foster relationships across Shipt and serve as a role model for our cultural norms, behaviors, compliance, and ethics


Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred


  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant field with demonstrated cross-functional and collaborative project or team management experience, and a track record of leveraging data for business impact. This is a great opportunity for those with experience in Consulting, Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Strategy, Strategic Planning or similar roles


  • Experience building and managing lean teams with outsized company impact. Experience as a manager of managers, especially in high growth tech environments, is a plus.


  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to break down problems into fundamental parts, identify root causes, synthesize findings, and make informed decisions


  • Strong experience in project management; has the ability to manage execution: coordinate, prioritize, establish goals, and ensure timelines are met


  • Proven ability to influence and communicate complex ideas effectively, verbally and in writing and comfort working with senior leadership


  • Ability to deep dive into data, identify and quantify opportunities, and design sustainable improvements and solutions. 


  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and organization, with the ability to be resilient and adaptable


Additional Requirements


  • Prior experience in engagement with a top management consulting firm or corporate strategy group, managing large or complex projects


  • Strong team and goal orientation with track record of success and ability to work successfully with others at all organizational levels


  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn with a strong inclination to challenge the status quo and drive for results in ambiguous spaces and a fast-paced industry
