DPDHL is hiring an experienced Senior Cargo Claims Handler, to join our elite team of experts based out of our regional Center of Excellence in Plantation, Florida.

Your Day To Day Responsibilities Include:

• Manage high value and high visibility marine cargo/freight claims for US and Canada.


• Ensure that customer claims are handled swiftly and efficiently, with comprehensive investigation.


• Pursue robust recovery action against any potential liable third parties including the actual carriers, subcontractors etc.


• Perform loss mitigation and root-cause analysis to identify effective corrective actions and service improvements. 


• Adopt a collaborative approach to address a wide variety of claims administration requirements.


• Maintain effective communications with business partners, customers, underwriters and external experts, including coordinating across multiple departments within the company.


• Coordinate with Insurance & Risk Management central team (London) for significant claims on insurance coverage, precedent setting and commercially sensitive issues.


• Build relationships with underwriters, insurance loss adjusters and other external experts and professionals. 


• Increase claims competency and knowledge associated with claims handling process, aligning with global initiatives.


• Maintain accurate claims database to record the actual claims status and activities for claims reporting purpose.


• Provide customer claims reporting and data analysis on claims activities and resolutions.


• Adhere to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the board.


• Ensure all regulatory and compliance policies are met within global guidelines and drive operational excellence.


• Serve as a key active member of the Insurance & Risk Management North America claims team

Your Background and Skills Include:

• 5+ years cargo claims handling experience, ideally with expertise in ocean claims.


• Excellent spoken & written English.


• Proficient in applying international conventions i.e. COGSA, Montreal , Carmack


• Industry experience i.e. freight forwarding, supply chain & logistics, marine insurance. 


• Experience of operating an end-to-end claims handling process.


• Experience within a global company with cross-border communication preferred
