Position Summary:

We are currently looking for an Accountant - General Ledeger to join our growing Finance orgnanization! In this role as an Accountant, you will develop, implement and/or maintain one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. You will also monitor and develop monthly reports of expenditures for projects, and provide record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and record accurate and timely journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.


  • Ensure the accuracy of account balances by way of timely reconciliation and resolution of potential discrepancies.


  • Support monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information, thereby helping to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.


  • Provides timely accounting and analytical assistance to finance and other company personnel and respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.


  • Support the implementation and maintenance of systems and policies and procedures, to ensure adherence to company guidelines and proper internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and other relevant regulations.


  • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting packages for management review.



Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in a related field


  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in an accounting role with varying responsibilities, preferably in a medical device environment


  • Experience with generally accepted accounting principles, Sarbanes-Oxley, and accounting software


  • Public company and SOX experience


  • Oracle or other major ERP system experience required, as is advanced Excel skills.



Functional Description

    Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.

      Workplace Type

      • The Workplace Type for this role is High Flex. Based on the nature of your position you will be working onsite approximately 1 day per week from collaborative space and hoteling desks at our Dexcom sites. You will need to be located within commuting distance (typically 75 miles/120km) of your assigned Dexcom site.
