Job Summary


Under the general direction of the Controller, the Accountant performs the accounting function of ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying and entering transactions.


Job Responsibilities



  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements. Prepare & post journal entries related to payroll, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, general accruals, and intercompany activities.

  • Prepare and maintain account analyses, schedules, and reconciliations for prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, payroll and related benefits, intercompany balances, cash and expenses.

  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for management, assist in preparation of annual budgets; additional ad-hoc reporting as required.

  • Prepare cash forecasts for cash receipts and cash disbursements.

  • Communicate monthly with all budget owners by sending reports comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets.

  • Actively participate in month-end close and financial reporting activities

  • Coordinate with our Program Management Team to follow-up on past due receivables and obtain payment commitments for all open receivables.

  • Participate in monthly meetings to discuss open items.

  • Contact outside reclaim companies to obtain payment commitments on open balances.

  • Create assets, disposals, and run depreciation and fixed assets registers in the FAS system on a timely basis. Prepare corresponding journal entries.

  • Assist with annual external audit. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for annual and interim audit. Assist in the preparation of periodic tax packages and annual accounts.

  • Review daily banking activity, prepare back up for cash application as necessary, reconcile intercompany loan statements, resolve issues with bank such as cleared check difference, and maintain updated bank mandate.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedure. Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Perform other related duties as required.



Job Qualifications


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university required

  • 2+ years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in a manufacturing industry setting, required.

  • General ledger experience required.

  • Advanced-level skills with MS Excel required



Preferred Qualifications


  • Intermediate to advanced experienced with MS Office, specifically MS Excel.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting software packages for general ledger accounting

  • Ability to effectively and independently handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including email.

  • Desire to communicate opportunities for improvement.
