The Human Resources Business Associate/Labor Relations is responsible for not only leading the deployment of key HR initiatives but also ensuring constructive, business focused, and efficient labor relations processes and practices at our unionized plant.

Utilize your problem solving and analytical skills to serve employees and managers within the organization including duties related to labor contract negotiation, administration, grievance processing, and arbitration support for Collective Bargaining Agreements. Additionally, our Employee/Labor Relation Team facilitates fair process that mitigates employer risk and ensures fair treatment for employees. We work to foster a collaborative work environment.

What you'll do for Labor Relations:


  • Coach, investigate and document employee relations issues

  • Support CBA administration and participate in researching and strategy development in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Lead partnership and grievance mitigation initiatives

  • Educate HR and Leaders on Employee/Labor relations issues including; contract interpretation, FMLA/LOA, ADA, Disciplinary Action, and other employment risk management issues.

  • Find solutions to challenging issues

  • Strengthen relationships throughout the organization

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • HR Business Partner supporting our floor and operations team

  • Site Labor Relations SME

  • Project lead for change management initiatives

  • Partner with HR Manager and leadership in strategy development and execution

  • Lead initiatives around annual process management (e.g. performance management cycle & workforce planning)

  • Own Labor Relations processes by developing strong relationships with union executive team members and stewards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Labor Relations, or related field

  • 3+ years HR and Labor Relations experience in unionized, manufacturing environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy

  • Negotiation, Influencing, and strong Communication skills

  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and SharePoint; with a willingness to learn and master other software programs as needed

  • Ability to drive results in a highly ambiguous and constantly changing environment

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills - ability to prepare and analyze HR reports, translate data into recommendations and take appropriate action to achieve desired business results

  • Ability to lead and manage projects independently

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly prefer an experienced individual with 5-8+ yrs HR and Labor Relations experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for a U.S. work visa.

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
