Job Description

KIOXIA America Inc., formerly Toshiba Memory America Inc., is looking for a Senior Principal Engineer and Technologistin the Marketingdepartment.

The Principal Engineer and Technologist will serve as Marketing's head technologist for KIOXIA's SSD Business Unit, and lead Marketing's research and evaluation of future storage technologies for KIOXIA's portfolio of Enterprise, Data Center, and Client Solid State Drives (SSDs) and SSD controllers. The Principal Engineer and Technologist will work closely with Product Line Management, Product Planning, and Engineering to spearhead the definition of KIOXIA's next-generation Solid State Drives (SSDs).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct research to assess maturity, feasibility, and benefits of emerging and innovative SSD and storage technologies


• Create and maintain technology roadmaps for SSDs and SSD controllers


• Interface with customer technologists and architects to enable new technologies, forecast product intercepts, and ensure alignment with customer roadmaps


• Shape next-generation product requirements by overseeing the creation of SSD Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) based on emerging technologies, customers' requirements, competitive analysis, and new industry standards, and by leading negotiations of compelling Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with Engineering

This role reports to the Senior Director of Technical Product Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable scientific field; Master's Degree preferred


• 12+ years in Engineering, Product Management, and/or Strategic Marketing, primarily in the computing, storage, or semiconductor industry


• Expert on SSD's and storage-related technologies, including PCIe, NVMe, SAS, and NAND Flash memory


• Strong understanding of enterprise computing and storage hardware and software


• Excellent verbal and written communications skills


• Ability to work well autonomously and within diverse, multi-cultural teams


• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
