At Pro-Pipe, our Branch Superintendent performs a critical role in developing systems and processes in efficient and effective management of projects assigned by the customer. The Superintendent is responsible for creating target goals, defining procedures, measuring the success of initiatives, and other tasks as required to keep the project operating according to the project lifecycle and assuring its successful completion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supervise field employees for timely commencement and completion of all projects
Fully understand the scope of work assignments within the project
Perform job project tracking
Monitor the performance of the operations field staff
Establish and generate Key Performance Metrics for the personnel, projects and the branch
Prepare and present reports on project performance and status to the management team
Attend client meetings and coordinate special request from clients as needed
Maintain alignment with the project to company mission and vision
Coordinate with the Operations Manager and the National Safety Director to ensure that the project safety goals are met
Manage daily schedule of all work assignments assuring all resources are available for successful job completion
Interpret financial reports and adjust target goals and plans accordingly
Coordinate with Operations Management for bids, reviews, job walks
Perform five customer visits per week
Create work instructions, process flows, and training documents as required
Perform miscellaneous related duties and carry out special projects as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, measure, and adjust according to the project management life cycle
Demonstrated ability to be highly organized
High attention to detail
High proficiency in MS Office applications
High proficiency in the operations of discipline (Vactor and/or Camera) including operation of trucks
Must have solid verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Professional appearance and attitude when conducting business with vendors and clients
Willingness and ability to work around biohazards such as bloodborne pathogens and sewage
Must be able to read and write in English language (to follow written instructions, directions, perform documentation, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibility:
Yes. This position will directly oversee employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Hold a valid CDL License with tank endorsement (if required)
Minimum of five years of experience in the Water, Wastewater, Gas, or Underground Utility Industry preferred.
Previous experience working with sewer and storm water pipelines
Experience working with and as part of a team
Experience in working with Utilities, Construction companies and Municipalities preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 30 pounds force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual activity to prepare and analyze date and figures on the computer as well as to operate motor vehicles and equipment. Subject to environmental conditions.
Solid emotional intelligence and the ability to deal with diversity in personality types, occupational backgrounds, hierarchy, internal and external customer base as well as corporate support groups.
