Position is responsible to keep the building systems and process equipment operational at all times. Working with the maintenance supervisor, will analyze and solve technical, electrical and mechanical equipment issues. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including developing wire diagrams, layout drawings and specifications for system or equipment modifications and expansion.
Essential Tasks:
Keep all plant machinery and facilities in proper operating condition.
Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), Device Net and AC inverters as problems arise
Perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance
Design and build machinery and electrical related components as required
Read blue prints and electrical schematics while troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems
Demonstrate and perform Lock Out/Tag Out regulations and follow Good Manufacturing Practices while performing daily tasks
Repair, replace and install electrical conduit as needed
Skills and Requirements:
3-5 years electrical experience and working on machinery
Must have GED equivalent or High School diploma and be 18 years old or older.
Completion of an accredited apprentice program is strongly preferred.
Must have working knowledge of PLC, Device Net, and inverter drives.
Must be able to understand and work with high voltage, 12470 volt 3 phase 480/277 volt 3 phase 208/120 Hydraulic and pneumatic experience helpful; skilled use of power tools.
Direct work experience with manufacturing equipment is essential.
Basic math and reading skills, able to read and follow blueprints and electrical schematics
Must be able to understand and follow work instructions in English. Must be self-motivated and have a customer service attitude.
Willing to work as a team player to solve problems, contribute ideas and make continuous improvements to the way work is done.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Work Environment:
Job is performed in a food manufacturing environment.
Must be able to work day shift from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
Overtime and weekend work may be necessary as workloads dictate.
Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including wearing hair nets, uniforms and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment apply.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to climb ladders, work from scissor lifts or otherwise work at heights of 6 feet to 65 feet above ground, stand for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of legs, arms, hands, fingers, to feel objects, and use power tools, including bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching; have command of all five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste).
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.
Physical: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.
