POSITION OVERVIEW

The Financial Analysis Senior Manager serves a controller-like function for Verity Solutions and leads a small team of accounting and finance professionals. Primary functions include providing financial adjudication services for the company's customers, leading internal general accounting functions (AR, AP, GL, etc.) and producing monthly financial statements. The position will focus heavily on maintaining, following, improving and documenting internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and financial reporting. The position will lead the annual audit process with external auditors. The position will also be involved in financial planning & analysis including providing assistance in preparing quarterly forecasts and the annual budget.

Additionally, the Financial Analysis Senior Manager will be mentored by the incumbent for the possibility of eventually stepping into the role of Business Financial Officer for Verity Solutions. The position will interact significantly with key leaders from other parts of the organization, and also will have direct contact with customers, vendors, and other external constituencies. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Verity Solutions' markets, products, customers, and business environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Managing a team of accounting professionals who are responsible for processing complex financial transactions involving invoicing and cash collections from pharmacy partners followed by cash disbursements to hospital customers

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions including AR, AP, collections, reconciliations, and general ledger activities

  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

  • Coordinating activities of external auditors

  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process

  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improving and implementing new processes

  • Evaluating, monitoring, improving and documenting internal controls

  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff

  • Assisting with the annual budgeting process

  • Assisting with the quarterly forecasting process

  • Assisting with the management of the FP&A function

  • Support ad hoc analyses as required

  • Understanding revenue metrics and performance drivers

  • Participating in department and company projects

  • Participating in projects/initiatives as needed

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.

  • 10+ years relevant financial/analytical experience & 4 years of supervisory experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, advanced ability with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.

  • Strong written/verbal communication, including presentation skills. Comfortable discussing and explaining complex concepts to audiences with varying levels of knowledge of the subject.

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and curiosity; Strong understanding of client analytics, financials, and value tradeoffs; Modeling, trending and forecasting skills.

  • Relationship building and collaboration.

  • Ability to take ownership and deliver results; Initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • CPA license preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of Healthcare industry preferred.
