Responsibilities

As a member of the Creative Services team, the Senior Marketing Editor will be responsible for collaborating with peers on conceptual development and the creation/editing of copy for a broad range of marketing initiatives including sales materials, direct marketing, e-mail marketing, advertising, event marketing, web content, videos, social media, and verbal communications (speeches, presentations, etc.). This individual should have demonstrated success in creating innovative marketing content. The Senior Marketing Editor will ensure that copy is consistent with the tone of Brookdale and overall strategic goals of the organization, yet be agile in quickly adapting to changing priorities and initiatives. Writing concisely, editing, and proofreading are critical to this role. The individual in this role is able to translate complex material into clear, concise, and persuasive messaging, often on a tight deadline. The ideal candidate is a Writer/Editor who has experience creating compelling content.


  1. Review and edit a wide range of materials produced in marketing, including web pages, press releases, posts and blogs, etc.

  2. Write and produce a wide range of content that achieves these objectives, including but not limited to: thought leadership, press materials, marketing materials, messaging, newsletter content, advertising copy, awards entries and more.

  3. Deliver immaculate writing for higher-level projects that require an advanced level of comprehension and great attention to detail.

  4. Ensure consistency in Brookdale's voice and adherence to guidelines and protocols.

  5. Own Brookdale's legal matrix and have full understanding of disclaimers and guidelines.

  6. Proofread to correct spelling, usage, and grammatical errors.

  7. Write, edit, and/or rewrite copy as requested by internal clients or project managers.

  8. Work with creative staff to ensure visual elements complement written content.

  9. Manage and oversee Marketing Editor.
