Coordinate scrum team activities, work with product owners, gather artifacts, and lead ceremonies to support the delivery capability of scrum teams. Influence team members to elevate scrum team performance to the next level. Support the standardization efforts in delivery methods and metrics and ensure adherence to Agile Scrum principles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Organize and schedule all sprint ceremony events
Report progress and impediments in scrum of scrum (or equivalent) meetings to Agile Program Manager
Guide and influence team members to get the most out of self-organization
Encourage continuous improvement and learning within the teams
Document, track, and remove impediments within the team
Communicate the release plan to the team and keep the team focused on delivery of the product roadmap commitments from both a time and quality perspective.
Work with Product Owner to maintain a prioritized backlog of items for the team to work on while keeping technical debt to a reasonable level
Identify dependencies on other teams and work with other Scrum Masters to resolve dependencies and other inter-team obstacles
Engage with other Development PMO team members and Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
Guide the team in establishing normalized estimates and in understanding the estimation process
Ensure proper usage and metric collection within chosen project management tools (Jira and Confluence)
Shield the team from outside distractions and interferences
Experience & Educational Requirements:
4 year degree in computer science or engineering required
5+ years of work experience in an agile scrum development environment with distributed delivery teams, preferably in a software company setting
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Highly-organized with outstanding time management skills
Offshore delivery coordination experience
High-level understanding of building and maintaining SaaS products
Other Project Management certifications (e.g. PMP, PMI-ACP) is a plus
