Our solutions include wearable and IoT sensors to track activity, detect emergency events, and assess current and future physical and mental health of seniors.

We are looking for a hands-on, creative, and collaborative software engineer to join our diverse team and develop high-quality cutting-edge software solutions for our applied research platform. In this role, you will work closely with other software engineers, research scientists, and test engineers and design, develop, deploy, and debug full stack software applications. You will work closely within our agile software development process and have an important impact on the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions.

What will you do?


  • Develop, integrate, test, deploy, debug full-stack software solutions.

  • Evaluate new software technologies (i.e., libraries, frameworks, services) that help development to stay abreast of industry trends and standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • 2 years of hands-on experience in:

    • Programming (Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Vue.js)

    • Web services development

    • Mobile applications (Android), Bluetooth/BLE communication

    • NoSQL database technologies (MongoDB, CouchDB)

    • DevOps automation tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), software version control(git), containerization (Docker), and testing frameworks



Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance controls for PHI containing applications

  • Familiarity with medical device design controls including ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820 as well as FCC compliance

Best Buy Health Technology Solutions teams are working in a hybrid work model. Most roles can be predominantly work from home but the person who fills this role will must be within a commutable distance to Boston, MA.
