As a member of Best Buy’s Enterprise Risk and Compliance team, you will play a critical role to ensure that customer, company and employee information is secure while enabling technology and business partners throughout Best Buy to innovate, drive sales and provide superior customer care in our stores, online and through our various contact channels.
The Senior Analyst, Cybersecurity Investigator responsibilities include Digital Forensic investigations, Lab and data management and formal investigation report writing. Responsibilities will also include eDiscovery and Insider Risk investigation support for compliance related cases as needed.
What will you do?
Preserve evidence as it relates to Incident Investigations using sound evidentiary procedures
Perform timeline and root cause analysis and can present findings in a structured reporting format for use in court and/or presentation to management
Conduct digital media investigations. Examine hard drives, storage devices, cell phones or any electronic device that may hold evidence
Performs a variety of forensic and electronic discovery services, including digital evidence preservation, forensic analysis, data recovery, and electronic mail extraction
Support ongoing internal investigations and litigation matters throughout the entire chain of custody
Perform file-system analysis and file carving (for example, to extract email, documents, and other trace evidence)
Establish timelines and patterns of activity of individuals and electronic devices and software.
Forensic Lab management and forensic software upkeep and renewals
Create detailed reports that address both technical and non-technical findings and impacts of events and incidents
Extensive hands-on daily work in ELK, Nuix, Encase and various other forensic tools
Observe all standard eDiscovery Technology conventions and Best Practices, such as deduplication, deNISTing, other methods of culling of data, and time zone management
Conduct forensic collections of data from various data sources, including hard drives, external media, network locations, and cloud-based storage systems
Preserve data such as email, text and data files using eDiscovery and Forensic standard preservation tools/methodologies
Create and format deliverable and incoming volumes pursuant to required specification for the appropriate document review systems
Various other tasks in support of our forensics collection and investigation efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
2 or more years of experience with legal, business, consulting, or relevant technical experience with a focus in eDiscovery or digital forensics
Knowledge of software used in the legal hold, digital forensics, or electronic discovery processes
Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and client-service orientation
Experience with collection best practices and procedures
Proven ability to work independently and solve problems with minimum supervision
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to adapt to daily activities that may be presented as rush requests
