Overview:

Paving Foreperson - Grand Junction, CO

Wage Range: $26 to $30 per hour based on experience 

The Paving Foreperson position is responsible for the daily planning, production, and safety of the paving crew. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the position is required to maintain consistent contact and teamwork with the plant and trucking manager to ensure efficient and accurate material delivery. The position reports directly to the Paving Superintendent.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers 


• Train new crew members


• Establish and maintain a working relationship with fellow managers


• Oversee progress and efficient utilization of crew and equipment


• Calculated and communicate trucking requirements and start time


• Oversee proper equipment maintenance


• Report any required equipment repairs


• Maintain daily diary including accurate & timely daily cost and quantity reporting and ordering


• Provide safety leadership and guidance, ensure T5, TRACK, Toolbox Talks, and all other safety policies engaged

Education and/or Experience:

• 5+ years leadership experience


• 1+ years supervisory experience preferred


• Strong background in paver automation  


• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required
  
   

Job Requirements and Skills:

• Microsoft Office environment applications
  
   

Physical Demands:

• Walking, standing, bending, lifting, and sitting


• Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance


• Additional tasks and duties may be modified by management
