ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Read, understand and follow batch tickets as instructed by automated batch system
Manufacture product per batch ticket instructions
Properly fill, pack and label the product into designated containers
Operate equipment with an inserting system
Transfer products from one container to another as needed
Maintain equipment and tools
Clean the equipment and plant and dispose the waste
Responsible for stock rotation and minimizing partial containers
Responsible for ingredient traceability
Verify proper staging and availability of raw materials in staging area
Proficient in all areas of and the ability to operate SAP Inventory function and perform inventory cycle counts
Conduct preliminary quality checks
Report near miss incidents and improvement opportunities
Participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs and training sessions
Complete Self Safety & ASI inspections
Participate on plant teams and serves as a trainer for employees and/or new hires
Comply with OSHA required activities for PIT and maintain PIT Certification
Comply with DOT regulations for Hazardous Material transport
Wear appropriate PPE at all times and maintain a clean work area
ISO - Follow all standard operating procedures with respect to performance of position duties and stays updated on all applicable procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned
JOB DUTIES:
Charge and discharge Cutter Vessels
Charge and discharge Nitro Varnish Vessels
Operate Inerting Systems
Operate incoming solvent manifold and heat exchanger unit
Operate filling/filter manifold
Verify proper staging and availability of raw materials in staging area
Manufacture product per batch ticket instructions
Maintain equipment and tools
Dispose of waste materials, empty containers and piece drums accordingly
Properly fill, label and seal containers
Properly stage all finished product for removal by material handlers
May transfer products from one container to another as needed
Keep work areas clean inside and outside of production area
Complete ASI and self safety inspections
Operate forklift and perform daily forklift inspections
Withdraws and replaces materials from staging areas
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to handle drums and related safety equipment
Ability to read and write and do simply arithmetic
Ability to read gauges
Dexterity in working with valves and pumps
Ability to work with batch tickets
Understands working with Flammable Materials and Nitrogen Inerting Systems
Maintains excellent housekeeping standards, understands housekeeping standards required for working with Nitro Cellulose Cotton
Basic computer skills
Basic understanding of electronic batching ticket (EBT)
Ability to operate computerized bulk distribution system
Basic understanding of Human Machine Interface system
Ability to read and write and do simple arithmetic
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
Must be able to lift 55+ lbs and stand on feet for long periods
Must be able to work 40 hrs weekly, overtime and weekends
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
Must be respirator qualified
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED
EXPERIENCE:
1+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment
Experience with quality control and safety procedures
SHIFT:
3rd shift
UNION HOURLY PAY RATE:
$22.29 + a $0.25 shift differential
Background Check and Drug Test will be mandatory once an offer is made
