The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking a passionate and globally-minded Associate Manager of Localization for the Digital Engagement Group (DEG). This role will work cross functionally with Global Brand Marketing and Product Teams, Design Teams, Digital Strategy, Creative Development & Production, Commercial Marketing and Mattel TV teams to manage the localization (dubbing and subtitling features) and delivery of digital programming for Mattel's iconic brands and global audiences. This position will be responsible for the localization strategy for multiple languages and roadmap, schedules, budget, quality of local digital programming and ensure the successful launch of content for international channels. The role will need to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage aggressive deadlines while demonstrating initiative in risk management, problem solving and skills to improve existing localization infrastructure, tools and technologies.

What Your Impact Will Be:


  • Lead the investment and development of the digital engagement groups localization practices, tools and processes.

  • Create creative briefs to dubbing teams, balancing original creative intent with local cultural sensitivities.

  • Manage IP rights ie., music clearance, dubbing rights, credits, etc.,

  • Organize and advise on local market programming calendars from a production and timing standpoint and work with strategy teams to build effective international launch plans.

  • Manage a multi-million dollar budget by tracking localization ballparks and estimates to achieve the most impact throughout the year.

  • Create and manage post production asset calendar ensuring cross-functional visibility to development and activation teams.

  • Prepare monthly status reports for Directors and VPs on international launches and learnings.

  • Manage, track and oversee vendor asset delivery dates to ensure timely delivery according to localization schedule.

  • Request localization through Mattel's internal Post team and determine individual production requirements for casting, graphics, lyrical songs and text to align with company vision of creative-excellence.

  • Develop new initiatives/workflows that support new business models and repurposing of materials for downstream use.

  • Manage and improve the localization process, problem solve as requests come in from markets, define what is feasible for vendors and budget.

  • Educate and onboard new vendors on Mattel's localization requirements, process and expectations.

  • Responsible and accountable for the evolution of localization function of DEG content across all international markets to data-driven models, including the calculation of ROI and the creation of a pathway to ROI-based prioritization.

  • Stay informed on the latest industry best practices.


What We're Looking For:


  • Minimum of 5 years in production, production management or with audio visual workflows.

  • Understanding and strong articulation of pre-production, production, post production, deliverables and dependencies within the confines of production.

  • Solid understanding of localization, dubbing and collaboration with international markets.

  • Must be extremely organized, a fast learner, professional, efficient, detailed oriented, self-sufficient, a team player, passionate about entertainment, and able to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point required.

  • Knowledge of business practices and basic finance.

  • Workfront Collaboration Tool and Wipster video suite experience a plus.
