Job Description:

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Department: USDC Project Management

Reports to: USDC Project Manager

MAJOR FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for cross-functionally coordinating the phase-in and phase-out process for all machines and associated factory-installed options selling from the USDC. This position is also responsible for supporting any major project assigned to the USDC Project Management Team. The function is critical to ensuring alignment within global cross-functional teams and processes, as they impact the USDC, and ultimately our customer's expectations. This position will also provide various manufacturing engineering support, such as routings and costing, for Value-Added lines and the Kit production area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Coordinate and track cross-functional USDC teams in various aspects of new product phase-ins, as well as the phase-out of existing machines, for all products selling from the USDC.

  • Support the USDC by serving as liaison between local teams and other locations, departments and teams within the company. Provide an effective information flow to global team members and utilize product knowledge and expertise to guide teams as needed.

  • Ensure full alignment of task completion for timely implementation of projects relative to deadlines. Must work globally with R&D Engineering Teams, Product Management, NPD/NPI Leaders, and other functional team leaders to coordinate projects and achieve on-time and on-cost deliveries to the customer.

  • Support all major projects assigned to the USDC Project Management Team. Quick data collection and analysis is often required.

  • Understand how to identify discrepancies or issues that could potentially negatively impact the USDC and act on them accordingly.

  • Pull data and complete cost evaluations, as required by the USDC Project Manager, to be used for decision-making purposes.

  • Coordinate the Viper and Private Label introductions by working with Product Management, managing ECR's (Engineering Change Request) and working with the USDC team through pilot and launch.

  • Manage projects related documentation and SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for existing and new processes.

  • Provide selected manufacturing engineering support to various functions within the USDC. This could include, but is not limited to, ECR creation, ECO (Engineering Change Order) implementation on pre-launch products, attend weekly ECO review meetings, create and maintaining routings, as well as participate in pilot runs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

B.S. in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE:


  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma skills

  • Experience in an assembly/manufacturing environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:


  • Must be a strong leader who is self-motivated with a high level of initiative.

  • Must work well in a team setting, be able to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams and have strong presentation skills.

  • Must have strong communication and negotiation and skills, both written and verbal. The ability to demonstrate cooperation within a team is a necessity.

  • The ability to multi-task and handle several different functions/projects at once, will be necessary. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.

  • The ability to comprehend large amounts of data and derive the best solution from the information provided is essential.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required.

  • Strong engineering analytical and reporting skills are necessary.

  • Base understanding of project management skills, at a minimum, are required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL, with experience preferred.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD.

  • Working knowledge of simulation software preferred.

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
