Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to lead proposal development for the firm’s business development efforts in the Public & Middle Market Companies, Financial Services, and Healthcare focus areas, as well as the Accelerate business unit.   This individual will need the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, performing tasks quickly and with attention to detail. 


Key Responsibilities:


The Proposal Manager job duties also include, but are not limited to:



  • Ability to perform secondary market research, searching for information and data I to support information needed for pursuits and proposals.

  • Ability to work well in a group environment to set deadlines, manage document edits, organize information and guide technical contributors to meet agreed-upon timelines for deliverables.

  • Ability to think creatively offering ideas on how to present information and showcase it in visually appealing ways in proposal documents, presentations, and other printed materials.

  • Ability to write technical content and edit for grammar and readability of documents prior to publishing.

  • Ability to manage complex document requirements, showcasing expert level attention to detail.

  • Job responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the list below.  Other duties and tasks could be assigned by management.

  • Supervise, oversee and carry out efforts to proactively research market opportunities, client requirements, and other information for positioning or proposal response needs.  follow up and other market research as needed.

  • Organize and manage critical data including keeping a central folder to house all business development and proposal documents. 

  • Institute and champion a file protocol process for other team members and contributors to easily identify the appropriate materials. 

  • Gather and organize all client-facing materials utilizing a file protocol system that is widely understood by everyone working on a pursuit. 

  • Institute clear direction and guidance to ensure version control and that all edits are compiled and addressed appropriately in brochures, presentations, proposals or other client engagement materials.

  • Respond to proposal documents by following a standard processes for proposal development to ensure all content is received formatted an adequately reviewed prior to submission.  Documents must follow client guidance/directions, ensuring compliance with all proposal requirements.

  • Collaborate with others in internal groups such as legal, marketing, and others to gather information needed for a pursuit, create graphics and other document pieces.

The ideal candidate for this position would have the following minimum qualifications:



  • B.S. or B.A. in Business Administration, Journalism, Public Relations, Information Systems, and Decision Sciences or a related field of study.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience, working at a professional services firm leading efforts to respond to proposals for clients and prospects. 

  • Expert level proficiency at Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with the ability to create and insert complex graphics and create formatted documents to meet aggressive deadlines.

The primary job responsibilities are noted above, but other duties may be assigned by management as required.  This position requires adherence to deadlines which on occasion will require work to be completed outside of normal business hours. On occasion, this position will require limited travel for training, proposal meetings, and other business purposes.
