What You’ll Do
As Resident Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative and diverse teams around the world. This opportunity is located in Clayton, North Carolina.
You will serve as a key liaison between LEONI and the customer’s technical and supplier development teams and must thrive in environments with limited oversight and freedom to develop process. As the “Face of LEONI” to the customer’s technical teams, you will be hands-on in delivering a high-level of customer service and integrity in the role.
You will ensure effective communication between the customer and LEONI’s global teams and possess the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences. This role involves regular communication with customer and supplier engineering including technical presentations and proposals to the customer as needed.
You will interact with a cross functional team to execute multiple customer projects on time by managing timelines, performing design reviews, and participating in validation activities.
You will help drive projects that identify and explore new technologies to extend LEONI’s technology leadership and customer relevance, then actively participate in the strategy and execution to make those opportunities a reality.
You will be responsible for generating and developing VAVE ideas to reduce material costs by conducting analysis on design to cost and manufacturing.
You will assist in troubleshooting and determining methods to remedy quality issues at the customer’s manufacturing locations and will be responsible for reporting out to internal and cross functional teams and management.
You will develop into a technical expert for the customer’s specific wire harnessing requirements, specifications, and new technologies.
You will commit to continuously developing and maintaining a high-level understanding about wiring harnesses and related production processes.
Who You’ll Work With
Our Front Office team is part of LEONI’s Chief Technology Office (CTO). The CTO area integrates pre-development, product and series development, and is responsible for technical project management for a global customer base. Our international team closely collaborates across our COO (manufacturing operations) and CSO (sales) organizations to develop and drive LEONI’s vision of best in class wiring systems.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
3+ years wire harness design or vehicle electrical/electronics experience
