Your responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Operations functions to satisfy both internal and external customer expectations by leading new program launches to successful completion through the identification and coordination of appropriate resources, determination of project scope, and managing and communicating project timelines, deliverables, issues, risks, and success metrics

• Strategize and outline goals and objectives of the program

• Lead cross-functional project teams to solve problems and chair regular project meetings to track progress towards shared objectives

• Monitor profitability of projects and ensure expected targets are achieved.

• Develop and monitor budgets for assigned projects and assure that costs are planned, invoiced, and distributed appropriately

• Maintain a clear project plan with major milestones and critical paths clearly identified

• Track project progress against defined cost and timing objectives and react proactively to potential variances

• Ensure projects align to the strategic initiatives defined for the Business by gathering appropriate information from individuals and the project team in order to make correct decisions

• Complete accurate, high quality documentation of projects, including project schedules, status reports, and action plans

• Manage and submit program reports for upper management and executive review

• Present program status and escalate issues as necessary to program sponsors and steering committees

• Coordinate engineering changes through the change management process

• Travel to customer and supplier locations and to International Bilstein facilities as necessary. Due to the global nature of the Cybertruck project, willingness to travel regularly both internationally and to California is required.

• Communicate with customers regarding Bilstein's products, facilities, and capabilities

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Your profile

Selection Criteria:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience

• Substantial experience and knowledge within the automotive industry, defense industry, or heavy vehicle industry with a history of increasing responsibility

• Proven project management experience, including demonstrated skills in both stakeholder management and in leading a cross functional team

• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.

• Sufficient technical acumen to participate in engineering discussions with internal and external parties

• Willingness to travel to customer and supplier locations and to international Bilstein facilities. Due to the global nature of the Cybertruck project, willingness to travel regularly both internationally and to California is required.

• Highly developed written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated record of building both internal and customer relationships and rapport

• Strongly demonstrated leadership skills, including sound reasoning and decision making ability

• Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively with little direct supervision

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same
