If you are analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated the Charlottesville, VA, location is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist.  Must collaborate well with a team in a high volume environment.
 

As a Inventory Control Specialist you Will:


  • Direct tasks to indirect team of Material Coordinators to ensure completion of counts per created plan. 

  • Reconcile and analyze inventory to meet key operational objectives related to accuracy, availability, and display. 

  • Perform root cause on variances and uses reporting tools to analyze the data for corrective and preventative action. 

  • Create weekly metrics reports and present to peers and senior management team. 

  • Analyze inventory for slow moving, redeployment opportunities and disposals.

  • Analyze data and develop yearly cycle count plan to ensure compliance with company objectives 

  • Direct cycle counts in accordance with cycle counting process. 

  • Interface with other departments to formulate corrective actions and investigate inventory errors 

  • Maintaining cycle count records and tracking accuracy 

  • Accountability for the results and success of the cycle count program 

  • Ensure proper approvals are obtained per the delegation of authority for inventory adjustments 

  • Perform root cause analysis and helps determine corrective and preventative actions. 

  • Generate location audit plan and ensure completion 

  • Support all audit activities as needed relating to materials 

  • Participate in yearly PI count/audit and all preliminary preparation 

  • May be required to move, transact, package or repackage materials. 

  • Inventory disposal notice execution 

  • Customer owned material measurement and control 

  • Complying with and ensuring department compliance with Company health, safety, environmental and trade policies. 

  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions 

  • Must be comfortable keeping track of numerous products and extensive amounts of information

Required Education, Experience, and Skill:


  • 2-year Associate's degree or equivalent demonstrated experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years previous inventory management experience required

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Basic math operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and decimals 

  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook 

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Familiarity with inventory control devices

  • Verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and facilitating team meetings

  • Ability to work within matrix structure and cross-functionally/geographically at all levels of an organization

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skill:


  • Experience using MRP system (SAP preferred)

  • APICS certification preferred

  • Lean manufacturing knowledge desired
