Outpatient imaging centers in Edina and Burnsville, Monday to Friday, 1.0 FTE

JOB TITLE: Imaging Technologist - Spinal/X-Ray/Mammo
LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: Clinics
EXEMPT STATUS/GRADE: Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Lead Technologist or Clinic Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Perform special procedures, radiographic and mammography exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform all special, radiographic and mammography procedures and exams according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care in a timely manner.
Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it.
Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient's medical records.
May require local travel.
Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

RT (R) and RT(M) or RT(R), RT eligible from an approved educational program required.
3-6 months general x-ray experience preferred.
6-12 months mammography and special procedures experience preferred.
RT (R) registration required within one year of hire and maintained in good standing.
RT (R)(M) registration required within one year of working in modality and maintained in good standing.
CPR certification required within 6 month of hire and maintained in good standing.
Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.


DAILY PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift.


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
High-Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood products, bodily fluids and/or hazardous materials common to a radiology setting.
High-Potential exposure to ionizing radiation exams rooms and/or involved in the use of ionizing radiation common to a radiology setting.
