Job Description:

SUMMARY: Assembles and builds-out telecommunications devices or assemblies that are mechanical or electro-mechanical in configuration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Accurately and consistently identify copper color and sequences.Accurately place copper in the correct sequence inside the connector assembly.This position also utilizes a seam ripper and other sharp instruments to remove outer Kevlar from the cable reel.Essential hand eye coordination and attention to details is required.Ability to track and maintain a personal log of work completed daily.Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Must understand and follow KGPCo Safety practicesMust practice quality awareness and have the ability to implement quality control processes and proceduresMust learn and demonstrate the proper use of tools associated with assemble-wire-testUnder supervision, performs assigned physical and mechanical assembly activity, including cabling, and copper connections.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalentSome experience preferred, willing to trainPossesses basic understanding of electromechanical processes

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two-and-three syllable words; to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; and ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
