Your Responsibilities

As an OFP Assembly ME for John Deere Harvester Works located in East Moline, IL, you will mentor engineers, Assemblers, and suppliers insupport of the S-Series Combine Business Unit.In addition, you will:


  • Lead the development of capital expenditure justifications by developing accurate cost estimates forequipment, tooling, facilities and labor
  • Provide project management leadership to capital, expansion and improvement projects
  • Lead team studies related to capacity, productivity and efficiency
  • Lead team(s) to address quality issues by utilizing root cause analysis and mistake proofing by gathering andanalyzingdata; working with design, tooling, advanced technologies, maintenance andother functional areas to resolve issues
  • Establish routings, SOE (sequence of events), line balances, layouts, tooling, assembly costs, OMS, and control plans for revisions to current operations
  • Work with SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT (MES) to perform engineering functions

What Skills You Need (Required skills/experiences)


  • 1 or more year(s) experience with shop floor documentation (Sequence of Events, Labor Standards, and Operator Methods Sheets) and Line Balancing (DLBT)
  • 1 or more year(s) k nowledge of assembly processes, quality, tooling, and safety
  • 1 or more year(s) knowledge of capital budgeting and equipment justification
  • 1 or more year(s) communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment
  • 1 or more year(s) e xperience in project management and business planning; small strategic projects or large tactical projects
  • Self- motivator with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision
  • 1 or more year(s) e xperience with line design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools such as simulations and 3D factory
  • 1 or more year(s) e xperience teaching and mentoring less- experienced Engineers in all facets of the role

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)


  • Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development
  • Experience with Dynamic Line Balancing Tools (DLBT)
  • Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as CIPP ( Continuous Improvement Pay Plan)
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience with JDAAT MES systems
  • Experience with torque tooling
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Creo View software

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering
