American Renal Associates, a national provider of quality dialysis services, is experiencing rapid growth and we are searching for the right individuals to help continue our superb performance. We are currently accepting applications for the following position in our Corporate Headquarters, in Beverly, MA or Franklin, TN.


Benefit Administration Manager


The Benefit Administration Manager oversees the activities and duties of the Benefit department. The Benefit Administration Manager leads the annual renewal process and collaborates with senior management on benefit strategy and plan design. Additionally, the Benefit Administration Manager is responsible for ensuring that departmental processes and procedures meet all benefit compliance requirements.


Essential Functions


1. Supports the Benefit Administration Supervisor in overseeing the day-to-day function of the benefit department and ensuring the quality and timeliness of benefit department performance.
2. Acts as a liaison between staff members and insurance carriers/vendors as needed, and serves as the second point of escalation for complex or sensitive benefit issues.
3. Works with insurance carriers/vendors on complex, global benefit issues and plan design.
4. Directs the benefit department's communication strategy and delivery.
5. Reviews audit and reconciliation data and identifies opportunities to enhance plan utilization and mitigate costs.
6. Leads the annual renewal process by evaluating benefit program options, making recommendations to senior management, and managing implementation.
7. Works with broker to ensure departmental compliance with benefit regulations.
8. Works with Vice President of Human Resources to align benefit strategy with organizational goals.
9. Works effectively with other department heads on cross-functional areas and initiatives.
10. Leads the benefit department to continuously consider ways to improve and enhance processes and procedures and oversees the implementation of changes.


Required Education and Experience



  • 4-6 years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration. Professional certification in Human Resources strongly preferred.

  • Ability to effectively manage, develop and coach staff members. 2-3 years of leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; must be able to utilize formulas and functions in excel.

  • Ability to delegate tasks and projects, conduct training, complete performance evaluations, and participate in progressive discipline.

  • Ability to motivate individuals in achieving goals and objectives.

  • Ability to exercise effective and independent judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations.

  • Ability to maintain discretion regarding business-related files, reports, and conversations, within the provisions of open records laws and other applicable state and federal statutes and regulations.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and standardized forms. Ability to speak effectively with clients and fellow staff members. Strong oral and written communication skills required.


This is a Full-Time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Travel is not expected for this position.
