Position Summary:
Granite City Electric is looking to hire a Part-Time Shipping Associate in our Chicopee, MA location. The Shipping Associate will perform physical and clerical warehouse duties such as inventory, receiving, storing, picking and/or shipping of materials. Pay for this position is $17.00 per hour.
Essential Functions:
Loads and unloads trucks, moves material in a safe manner manually or by using forklift, pallet jack, handcart or other device.
Accurately counts, checks, prepares and records items being received or shipped.
Assembles, packages, labels, stacks, prepares pallets, and routes material for safe delivery or storage.
Completes paperwork, documentation, and data input in accordance with established procedures.
Performs maintenance and housekeeping duties.
Participates in processes and programs aimed at prompting a safe work environment.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of forklift operations and warehouse equipment preferred.
Eclipse software experience preferred; computer aptitude very important.
Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.
Position Requirements:
Good mechanical aptitude, good math, communication and reading skills.
Must acquire a working knowledge of the Eclipse software support system and be capable of using RF tool.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Ability to interact successfully with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
Ability to work independently to meet assigned project deadlines.
Acquires and maintains current knowledge of GCE policies and procedures, general product knowledge, participates in training, and attends meetings as requested.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 70lbs on a repetitive and ongoing basis.
Ability to walk/stand all day.
Ability to push/pull up to 70lbs on a repetitive basis.
Ability to bend and stoop frequently.
