Communications Specialist

LHB has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Specialist in our Minneapolis or Duluth office!

Position Summary:

LHB seeks a Communications Specialist to create and share content that demonstrates our role as designers and thought leaders for our clients, vendors, and colleagues. This position is ideal for a collaborative, strategic, and creative professional.

As a communications specialist with LHB, you will create high-impact content to increase LHB's visibility and engagement with clients and other key audiences. You will develop project examples, blog posts, social media updates, news stories, feature articles, and thought-leadership content. You will also partner with project teams to plan and deliver videos, conference presentations, and marketing materials.

Applicants should be comfortable working in a collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities. This person will report to the Marketing Director while working closely with our marketing team, and studio and group leaders.

Ideal candidates will offer:

Storytelling abilities: to articulate archetypal story structures highlighting key features and characteristics of the LHB brand; then shape content to align with these narratives.

  Infographics experience: to identify concepts that can be communicated graphically and collaborate with subject matter experts and designers to create dynamic visually engaging content.

  Strategic thinking: to conceive content forms and products that can be distributed and repurposed across multiple platforms


• 
  Professional presence: to converse with technical experts at a level that builds trust, allows for respectful and rigorous conversations about content development, and communicates marketing's strategic goals and objectives

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop internal and external facing communications including written and multimedia content


• Collaborate with key managers, business unit leaders, and stakeholders within LHB


• Identify topics and write or edit content for press releases, blog posts, articles, white papers, and social media posts


• Identify speaking opportunities for LHB thought leaders and work with them to create pitches and presentations


• Manage LHB's website and its analytics


• Maintain and enhance LHB's brand through communications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Five years of experience in a communications position, where work included communicating technical or complex information to a non-technical audience


• Superb written communication, editing, and proofreading skills


• Attentiveness to details and deadlines


• Strong project-management and organizational skills


• Broad knowledge of the AEC industry


• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel software


• A. degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Eight or more years of related experience


• Experience working in content management systems


• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications


• Knowledge of the Meltwater media intelligence platform


• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 platforms, including SharePoint online and MS Teams


• Experience with CRM (Deltek Vision/VantagePoint)


• Technical editing experience
