Your Role:

Responsibilities of this position will include; interpretation of federal, state and local agency regulations, analysis, oversight and review of project work products, including site specific technical data, calculations, technical reports, construction plans, cost estimates, environmental permit applications and permit terms and conditions. These responsibilities will be applied to the civil, environmental and solid waste industries.


  • Perform engineering analysis, prepare design calculations and specifications
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, environmental data, and aerial photographs for landfills.
  • Draft construction plans using AutoCAD, or ability to work with AutoCAD designers to complete design drawings.
  • Prepare construction cost estimations.
  • Collect and/or review environmental monitoring data (air, gas, groundwater).
  • Prepare environmental and engineering reports.
  • Oversee construction projects to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction and safety standards.

  • Manage multiple smaller company priorities and projects.

  • Work at landfills, contaminated sites, and/or other sites where heavy equipment, contamination, or other health hazards may exist.
  • Support proposals for small to mid-size projects, including the development of technical plans, schedules, and cost estimates, and preparation with staff and with the client.
  • Field and office work required. May require travel/hotel stays

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in engineering or related environmental field
  • Professional Engineer license or desire to pursue license as part of career development
  • Experience - 2 to 5 years minimum in a related field

    • Solid waste management
    • Biogas system design
    • Site Civil

  • Regulatory experience required; general northeast, specifically New York and New Jersey experience a plus
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
  • Solid organization and time management skills
  • Self-disciplined/motivated individual who also works well in a team environment
  • Proficiency with computer usage for document preparation including Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided design software; Civil 3D preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and developing leadership skills. Ability to communicate clearly and regularly with project manager/team.
  • Strong analytical/technical skills
  • Project management experience, including budgets and invoicing, a plus
