Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Driver Recruiter will provide recruitment efforts to the Operation Managers and day-to-day administrative support for the Driver Development Team. They will conduct cold-calls and phone interviews, as well as act as a recruiting-liaison between Corporate Office and Operating Centers.Will be available for onsite recruiting events and trade shows to build a strong pipeline of drivers.Visit with location to work on advertising assets and strategies.Work with operations on past recruiting industry trends and analyze best strategies for future adverting and recruiting direction.

Essential Functions:


  • Conduct cold-calls and phone interviews.

  • Act as the recruiting-liaison between corporate office and operating cost centers.

  • Work closely with offsite operation managers determine hiring needs, advertising campaigns, trends, and recruiting strategies.

  • Participate in and attend job fairs and tradeshow events as a means to obtain a strong pipeline of driver candidates and to effectively meet hiring needs.

  • Visit onsite with location to work on advertising strategies as well as gather video and picture assets for social advertising.

  • Work with Operations managers to determine advertising spend by leading calls to analyze past performance and future industry trends.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for recruits throughout the interviewing process (i.e. communicate status, answer questions, coordinate follow-up efforts, and complete DOT driver files for code).

  • Screen candidates who possess the required qualifications and present them to other operations managers for consideration.

  • Inform applicants of available positions in the organization through knowledge of company needs and FMCSA requirements.

  • Interact with applicant to build an application in Tenstreet. Examine requirements for completeness, compliance, and accuracy as per our minimum eligibility guidelines.

  • Gather all documents and information to forward to the Operations manager and maintain accurate records of applicants forwarded to perform follow-ups on all leads passed along.

  • Work through work-list and job duties in a fast pace multitasking environment.

  • Conduct complete DOT background investigation including previous employer verification.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:


  • High school degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum of three months to one year of related experience in recruiting process and reporting.

  • Prior call center, phone sales, and transportation experience preferred.

  • Tenstreet ATS experience a plus.

  • Must have the confidence to speak with potential candidates and be comfortable generating candidate leads, cold calling, networking and research to quickly qualify and asses their potential candidacy.

  • Must be proficient in using software programs including Microsoft Excel and Word to quickly and accurately produce wide range of documents, as well as using internet job databases.

  • Strong written and verbal skills, be professional in their presentation and interaction with employees and driver candidates, a can-do attitude, be detail oriented, and have flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Knowledge in direct sourcing and effective interview techniques.

  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency, be self-driven, have leadership skills, be a team player and strong relationship builder.

  • Ability to effectively respond and interact with all levels of organization.

  • Excellent project management, writing, organization and oral communication skills are required.

  • Ability to work in structures and fast pace environment.

  • Highly organized with superior time management skills.

  • Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and communicates clearly.


  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of three months to one year of related experience.

  • Prior call center, phone sales, and transportation experience a plus.

  • Tenstreet ATS experience a plus.

  • Should have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
