Your responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting 'Near Misses' and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.

  • Interfaces with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Upper Management, Logistics, and Maintenance personnel to assure timely project deployment.

  • Manages mechanical engineering projects from concept to final deployment onto the manufacturing floor.

  • Uses 3D CAD software to design collaborative automation projects and create detailed drawing packages.

  • Simulates automation projects for cycle time and maneuverability using simulation software.

  • Quotes, purchases, and organizes all equipment, software, and services needed to deploy project.

  • Works with Industry 5.0 Team (controls engineer, technician, co-op) to build, wire, program, train, deploy, and maintain automation projects.

  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance groups to ensure a successful handoff.

  • Investigates the latest manufacturing technology to continuously improve manufacturing processes.

  • Leads cross functional teams to create and maintain PFMEA.

  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as determined by Industry 5.0 Team.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in education, training and experience.

  • Considerable manufacturing/design engineering experience with strong knowledge of automated assembly processes.

  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the use of 2D & 3D CAD software.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with coordination and presentation of technical data and information to key component suppliers & customers.

  • Proven ability to effectively present information in one-on-one & small group situations to Customers, clients, & others.

  • Experience to read and interpret customer specifications and industry standards.

  • Self-starter and able to work independently without day-to-day direction.

  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to plan, monitor, and control a project from start to finish ensuring everyone meets their deadlines.

  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with experience working successfully with others in a team environment.

  • Strong analytical aptitude to analyze and solve problems with data driven approach and root cause analysis skill.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, and blueprints.

  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.

  • Solid understanding of Lean Principles (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, SMED).

  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.

  • Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
