Shaner has an immediate opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters located in State College, Pennsylvania.  Remote work options are available for this positon!

The primary responsibility of the Tax Accountant will be sales tax compliance; however, responsibilities may include reviewing and analyzing financial data, preparing multi-state income and franchise tax returns, preparing financial statements, cash management, researching tax matters and providing a high level of support to Shaner Hotels and the many other Shaner business ventures that our Corporate team supports.     

• Minimum of two years of related work experience.  A bachelors or associates degree in accounting is preferred.


• Solid computer skills.  Proficiency with Quick Books, ProSeries Tax Software and Excel a plus.


• Experience in multi-state sales tax compliance preferred


• Excellent time management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to work with time constraints and deadlines.


• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
