Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with and support Senior Buyers to manage supplier purchase order initiation, acknowledgment, confirmation, cancellation, and corrective transactions.
Maintain purchase orders and flow of information to and from Customer Service teams, escalating issues, as necessary, to the applicable Senior Buyer.
Actively pursue cost savings through requests for quote, supplier quantity breaks, reduced lead times, increased turns and suggested supply chain changes.
Respond to parts pricing and availability requests.
Confirm, expedite, track and invoicing of direct shipment.
Expedite purchase orders needed to fill customer backorders, stock outs and daily stock needs.
Assist in vendor management to include negotiations, pricing, logistics and the purchase order process
Input and resolve pricing discrepancies/updates and manage supplier lead times.
Assist in the maintenance and development of blanket orders and stock strategies with Senior Buyer/Planner
Investigate and resolve cost and invoice discrepancies.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related degree strongly preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience in supply chain such as expediting, scheduling, purchasing, shipping/ receiving or logistics
Basic understanding of supply chain concepts including, but not limited to, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics and shipping/receiving
Demonstrated ability to work in an accurate and organized manner
Strong ability to multi-task
Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel
Effective written and verbal communication skills
