What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors

The Transportation Project Engineer works independently or as a member of a design team performing road design tasks for Local, County, and ODOT projects out of the Akron office. This individual works directly for the Project Manager.

Your Responsibilities


  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory roadway designs.

  • Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analysis toward the completion of assigned tasks.

  • Develop and prepare design specifications.

  • Perform project quantity estimates.

  • Detailing drawings and checking calculations.

  • Organize scheduling of specific assigned tasks and assignments.

  • Understanding OHM services and how they relate to the client's organization and needs.

What You’ll Need to Succeed


  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience involving roadway, highway, site, and utility design.

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation preferred.

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio

  • Experience in roadway geometric design and drainage design.

  • Experience with maintenance of traffic design is a plus.

  • Experience with Right of Way design is a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficient with MicroStation.

  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer is a plus.

  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and enjoy working in a team environment.

  • Desire to move into a Project Manager role.

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to grow in our Transportation Team in Akron. 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
