About the role:

You will report to the Capital Projects Manager. The Senior Project Manager provides business and technical leadership for high-priority, complex and projects to support the facility strategy of new product introductions. Manage overall project performance including integration of project activities, project resources, financial achievement and is a liaison for senior management and other partners. Contribute to the important strategic business portfolio processes to ensure funding for goals.

How you will contribute:•


  • Lead teams in complex assignments on a project-by-project basis through all project phases (initiation through closeout). Use experience and in-depth knowledge of the Project Management Methodology (PMM) to manage a variety of complex, high value projects, simultaneously.


  • May manage programs of projects that have individual PMs for each project.


  • Clarify project requirements to meet expectations of external customers. Manage expectations with regard to deliverables during the project.


  • Manage daily operational aspects of assigned projects including integration of project activities, project resourcing, financial achievement, meeting scope, EHS compliance, and completion.


  • Lead team in risk management approaches and systems. Make or escalate decisions regarding the appropriate risk when there is substantial project impact.


  • Provide regular project updates to all levels of management (Capital/PMO leadership, senior leadership team, customers, other partners).


  • Provide input to the project prioritization process and participate in other essential strategic business portfolio processes to ensure prioritization and funding to support site goals.


  • Be an advocate of the site's Project Management Methodology and associated Portfolio Management Office and Engineering CAPEX processes recognizing how project results seriously improve the success of the organization.


  • Knowledge of basic laboratory and pharmaceutical production equipment including autoclaves, process tanks, incubators, analytical equipment, and CIP/SIP systems.



What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or another related technical field.

  • 7+ years of related experience managing capital projects in cGMP environment

  • Experience managing multiple and large projects.

  • Experience leading construction projects to completion

  • PMP Certification preferred.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:


  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, and buffers that may require respiratory protection.
