Job Description:

Position Overview

This position is responsible for assisting with general railcar repair operations and for performing regular housekeeping and maintenance functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with various railcar repair jobs in assigned areas such as welding, painting/blasting, cleaning, and valve repair


• Operate shop machinery and equipment


• Perform regular housekeeping duties as required


• Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and machinery

What is expected of you and others at this level

• Has basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process


• Works within clearly defined standard operations procedures and or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines


• Works with close supervision

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required


• 1-3 years' relevant experience required


• Must be able to drive for the company according to the Company's Vehicle Safety and Driver Qualification Policy at Locations where mobile work is performed


• Ability to pass a Physical Capability Test


• Tank car experience a plus


• Pay starting at $19/hour plus full benefits day one
