Job Description:

SUMMARY: Supervise the Casino cashiering operation in assigned cage and shift in accordance with Internal Controls and company duties, as well as, assist guests with check cashing, chip sales, redemption and credit transactions in a pleasant and professional manner in compliance with Internal Controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisor Essential Functions


  • Creates and ensures a fun-filled and exciting work environment where the execution of "Fast and Flawless" service is paramount.
  • Prepares Casino Cage shift summaries and reconciles accountability.
  • Reports any irregularities to the Cage Shift Manager.
  • Responsible for activities in the Casino Cage.
  • Endorses the business objectives, ethics and values of Horseshoe Casino Hammond.
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

Cashier II Essential Functions


  • Ensures that Horseshoe's customers' service standards are exceeded at all times.
  • Interacts with patrons and employees to ensure that superior customer service is provided at all times and that the team is always pleasant while being efficient and effective.
  • Assures the ability to work the required job functions without immediate supervision.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of coin/currency in assigned area at all times.
  • Assure all windows are adequately impressed.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies concerning impressed amounts.
  • Conduct routine audits and ensures that they are performed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure key control procedures are adhered to.
  • Verify coin/cash shipments and currency deposits are accurate and timely.
  • Prepares NRT fills, credits and settlements accurately and timely.
  • Prepares cashier tills and credits accurately and timely.
  • Prepares Food & Beverage drops accurately and timely.
  • Prepares and completes all job related paperwork as approved in our Internal Control Submission.
  • Participates and attends meetings as requested.
  • Completes Currency Transaction Report as required by law.
  • Doubles window transactions to ensure the accuracy of transaction amounts.
  • Prepares disbursement checks for approval and signature.
  • Communicates to Cage Supervisors of any staffing and break schedule deficiencies.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Participate in the exchange of taken/chips with other casinos as necessary.
  • Participate in the training process of future Cashier II candidates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES/JOB DIMENSIONS:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Horseshoe from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to Horseshoe disciplinary action procedures up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Horseshoe policies and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of company facilities. Employees who violate Company policies and procedures are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment

Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise, temperature levels, illumination, vibration, and crowds

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years Casino Cage or related field experience preferred.

Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers and employees.

Ability to communicate one-on-one and to groups to explain policies and procedures to persuade others to accept or adopt a specific opinion or action. Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling customer needs and concerns. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Rate of pay - $16 per hour
