Your Responsibilities

As a Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Horicon Workslocated in Horicon, WI you will:


  • Support the daily operations for weld/assembly/machining and serve as technical expert
  • Serve as manufacturing team lead on new product programs as well as maintaining current production projects with responsibility for managing timelines, monitoring progressand holding the team accountable for program deliverables
  • Provide leadership and counsel to less experienced employees
  • Innovate and implement cost reduction, quality and safety improvement initiatives

What Skills You Need


  • 1 or moreyears of demonstrated understanding of Weld/Machining Engineering methods and principles
  • 1 or moreyears of experience with GD&T andCMM reporting
  • 1 or moreyears of experience in online or offline (WeldPro) programming of Fanuc robotic welding systems
  • 1 or moreyears of hands- on skill in programming robotic welding systems and manual welding
  • Machining or steel forming experience
  • Analytical skills in determining welding related cycle times and costs
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work with the union wage workforce
  • Analytical skills in Statistical Process Control for dimensional integrity of weldments
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Self- starter with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision
  • Demonstration of an understanding of Quality Planning and Control
  • Machining or steel forming experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenanceand facilities
  • Experience with W-Planner/MPP/FIA (SOE development software) and SAP
  • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools, specifically Creo Parametric
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems and work measurement
  • Knowledge of standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), root cause analysis and statistics

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field
