Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services across then firm. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the firm.

As an Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture lead, you will work very closely with the GTI Architecture Organization to create, approve and reconcile strategic architecture goals with the current state implementations. You will be responsible for driving architectural excellence across Base Compute products by defining and governing directives, principles, guidelines and best practices for the organization to follow. You will also recommend iterative paths towards the adoption of strategic architecture goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on-technologist with significant experience in architecture and engineering modern infrastructure platforms and services, including development of API best practices and Infrastructure as Code. We are looking for someone who understands the end to end stack of what it takes to run a PAAS application and service offering and how to leverage industry best practices in:


  • Configuration Management
  • Secure from the start automation-first of all infrastructure components
  • Operational and Production Support built into the robust solution
  • Deep understanding of operating systems, web, middleware, and networking
  • Understanding of how to build a highly resilient application
  • Iterative delivery of Strategic Architecture Design

As part of this role the ideal candidate with be working with the Cyber Technology and Controls organizations to help them build solutions that can be easily integrated into the end to end architecture and application delivery.

Key Responsibilities to Include:


  • Working across the Base Compute team and all of the Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) to Architect roadmaps and technical strategies for the future of configuration management
  • Represent the interests and positions of the Base Compute team in the GTI, and other firm-wide architecture forums
  • Work with all the LOB stakeholders to get buy-in and engagement on the architecture strategy and adoption
  • Work across Global Technology (GT) to deliver iterative improvements towards the strategic end with no interruptions to the business
  • Working with the SRE teams to Identify operational inefficiencies and creating automated solutions to reduce manual work
  • Collaborate cross functionality with infrastructure developers, support teams, and other software engineering teams
  • Working with a team of software engineers and infrastructure developers to deliver automation frameworks that will be adopted by all technologists
  • Provide recommendations for continuous technology or architectural improvements
  • Ability to plan and account for impacts of system development efforts across architectural system components, critical business processes, data and applications.
  • Conceptualizes the impact of changes to system platforms as a result of system acquisition, system merger, or implementation of enterprise-wide systems.
  • Sponsors strategic long-term improvement plans that take into account the critical, underlying and less apparent relationships between multiple complex business, technology and systems platforms.

Skills & Experience


  • 15+ years of experience designing enterprise infrastructure architecture for very large organizations
  • Experience working with or in large, complex, global companies
  • Experience in process re-engineering efforts, complex project delivery, organizational change best practices (ITIL, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Agile etc.)
  • Expert in making Architecture goals consumable through iterative delivery across all levels of the organization
  • Experience in the development of both Architectural models and implementation
  • Experience at working in a matrix management model, utilizing global virtual teams
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Excellent communicator at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to educate and uplift junior technologists to make stronger architectural decisions

  • Leads and guides the design, development of reusable components.

  • Leads the technical evaluation and selection process for improving performance by overseeing gap analysis studies, feasible alternative solutions, and recommending and/or approving the scope of modifications.
  • Works with vendors to resolve problems and develop solutions.
  • May assist in negotiation efforts for contracts with external vendors or individuals.
  • Evaluates vendor solutions to ensure compliance with requirements and cost-effectiveness.

  • Ensures all applications are documented according to standards.
  • Advanced knowledge on

    • OSI ( Linux / Windows )
    • Web & Application Servers (Apache / IIS / Tomcat)
    • Database (Oracle / MSSQL)
    • Monitoring (Prometheus, OEM, Open Metrics)
    • Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google)
    • Networking
    • Automation frameworks (Ainsible, Terraform, Puppet, SCCM)
