Job Description:

As a senior automation process engineer, you will lead process engineering activities in support of manufacturing medical diagnostic products, including developing, improving, troubleshooting, and validating manufacturing processes and equipment. In addition, you will spearhead and support value engineering projects to increase production efficiency, capacity, reduce cost, improve quality, and improve equipment OEE. What you can expect in this role


  • You will holistically approach problem-solving for products as complete integrated systems.


  • You will leverage your skills and experience in process engineering to investigate root causes and develop recommended solutions.


  • You will characterize production processes by breaking them down into their function blocks and map out how each process works within the overall system to ensure the process operates efficiently and as intended.


  • You will exercise analytical skills and tools to draw insights from large amounts of manufacturing data.


  • In addition to your current areas of expertise, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow your skills within a wide variety of disciplines.


What you will need to succeed


  • 5+ years of experience manufacturing process engineering.


  • BS in Engineering or equivalent experience.


  • Highly knowledgeable and experienced with manufacturing, automation, and process engineering.


  • Engineering background with solid troubleshooting, diagnostics, and process improvement skills.


  • Highly proficient with analyzing and organize data to present in a form that aids root cause analysis, including assessing probable failure modes, and developing and executing appropriate corrective action.


  • Proficient in using root cause analysis tools like 8D, FMEA, 5 Why's.


  • Experienced with equipment and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ).


  • Ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement process, machine, and design improvements to production equipment and procedures.


  • Highly skilled with solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information is available.


  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), manual and automated data collection, and data analytics using software tools like Excel, JMP, Tableau.


  • High work ethic and self motivated with the drive and tenacity to get the job done.


  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to perform well both independently and in teams.


  • Successful track record working with cross-functional development teams.


  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.


  • Display quality orientation and attention to detail.


  • Quick learner with the desire and ability to learn and grasp new technology, equipment, and skills.


  • Ability to write clear and concise technical reports.


  • Have flexibility with requirements and system changes.


  • Continuous learner who embraces a growth mindset.


  • Medical Device or Biotech related industry experience working within a GMP, FDA, and ISO environment is a plus.


  • LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is a plus.
