HOW YOU WILL DO IT

As our Director - Supply Chain Solutions, you will serve as the primary supply chain focal point for the assigned sector in order to increase revenue, margin, and improve working capital and customer satisfaction.

Key Job Accountabilities:


  • Customer Service Excellence - Ensure supply chain provides customer service excellence. Maintain knowledge of the market conditions, customer contracts and their products, including end-markets and product life cycles. Identify, oversee and execute projects specific to the sector that resolve customer or business issues. Ensure broader Plexus team has the appropriate understanding of customers as it relates to supply chain.

  • Market Development - Partner with the market sector team to develop and execute the strategy for growing revenue within the sector. Support the business development team's efforts to develop target lists, and assess suitability of targets from a supply chain perspective. Develop a supply chain strategy to support the sector strategy. Communicate both the sector strategy and the supporting supply chain strategy to the broader supply chain team.

  • Productivity - Coordinate with the market sector team to develop and execute a cost reduction strategy to ensure customer satisfaction and meet Plexus' objectives. Provide guidance and leadership across supply chain to execute the strategy. Engage at a senior level to provide supply chain perspective and expertise to inform material costing and pricing decisions for new and existing customers.

  • Solution Selling and Relationships - Provide high level supply chain solution selling and develop appropriate customer and internal relationships. Ensure new quotes and cost reductions are delivered professionally, on time and that they differentiate Plexus from our competitors.

  • Team Development - Develop a strong and capable supply chain sector team that optimizes supply chain performance to meet or exceed established annual targets. In the process, hold the staff accountable for results. Grow talent and develop successors/new leaders for the Company.

  • Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Additional Accountabilities:


  • Serve as a formal escalation point for material related issues for customers within the sector where additional assistance is required beyond the site or regional supply chain teams.

  • Execute continuous improvement measures, especially as they relate to cost and delivery.

  • Validate that Plexus' enduring goals and supporting customer materials financial model are sustainable and support our enduring goals.

  • Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 25-50%).

Education/Experience Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management is preferred.

  • Ten years of related experience is required.

  • Experience with both electronic components supply chain and mechanical parts supply chains (Understanding the cost drivers, production cycles, and key market players and being able to link them with the sector needs).

  • Certification by ISM or APICS is preferred.

  • Customer management or account management experience is preferred.


Other Qualifications:


  • Expertise in supply chain, including technical, technological and business concepts (including finance and cost models).

  • Computer literacy in multiple ERP systems.

  • Ability to influence others, including decision-making, conflict resolution and leadership competencies as defined by the company. Ability to lead without formal authority.

  • EMS and/or contract manufacturing industry experience is highly desirable.

  • Experience in Healthcare, Aerospace/Defense and/or Industrial market sectors is highly desirable.
