PRIMARY PURPOSE

Processes linen for Parkland and other customers in a timely, sanitary and safe manner.

• Must be able to demonstrate manual dexterity, accurately count linen and maintain applicable records.


• Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other hospital staff.

Responsibilities

1. Manually sorts and folds clean linen, i.e. washcloths, scrubs and other items, according to departmental standards.

2. Sorts, presses, and folds clean linen using automated laundry equipment, to meet the needs of customers and productivity requirements of Linen Services.

3. Separates soiled linen according to classification and departmental standards to prepare linen for effective processing.

4. Completes production logs and other assigned paperwork correctly and legibly.

5. Stays alert to ensure proper equipment use and to identify and report any equipment malfunctions. Operates all laundry equipment in a manner to ensure safety and minimize equipment malfunctions. Maintains a safe and clean work environment.

6. Provides backup to other positions in the Linen Services department to ensure continuous workflow and maintain adequate production levels.
