Position Summary: Uses knowledge A-Demand Flow Environment and Kanban replenishment procedures to provide materials to assembly lines.

Position Responsibilities:
Participate in required instructions and/or training to become familiar with DFT and its application at Nortek Global HVAC.
Perform all material handling activities in conformance with Operational Method Sheets.
Monitor overhead Kanban lights to see where parts are needed most urgently on assembly line.
Walks to assembly area and retrieve empty Kanban container and deliver it to the designated drop-off point for the operation/line.
Retrieve material from RIP area and deliver it to the work station where it is needed.
Restock RIP area with material delivered from Stores.
Stage Kanban cars at press, warehouse and/or supervisor's office as appropriate.
Maintain daily shortage list and provide it to the Materials Manager in a timely basis.
Maintain good housekeeping and safe work environment around workstation.
Perform other duties as assigned to maintain production efficiency and meet plant/department operational needs.
Maintains an attitude which consistently represents the organizational culture, including: the mission, vision and core attributes.
Other Ad hoc duties as assigned by manager.
Supports "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
Position Qualifications
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior forklift experience is required.
Must gain sufficient knowledge to fulfill the duties of this position within three (3) months of assignment.
Valid driver's license or certification.
Ability to read, write and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Good understanding of basic math, basic blueprint/specifications reading, and ability to use computer scanning devices and adjustable measuring instruments.
Must be able to check reports, forms, records, and comparable data and interpret data using basic skills knowledge.
Ability to work with little direct supervision.
Excellent safety record and forklift operation.
Preferred:
Minimum 1 year stand up lift experience.
