As a Senior Manager, Systems Engineering, for Tableau's CI Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for delivering and owning scalable, reliable, and trustworthy services that enable Tableau engineers to create the next generation of Tableau products with high quality. To deliver on your mission, you will work to create an environment where engineers feel supported, are growing, and clearly understand the team's vision, mission, and values. Attracting, hiring, and retaining engineering talent is essential as is creating a shared responsibility across your entire team and partnering with other development and quality teams within Tableau. You'll join a team of highly collaborative and passionate people on a mission to help people see and understand data, who are dedicated to building a fantastic company and workplace, and who are relentlessly focused on our customers and building amazing products.

Some of the things you will be doing include...

• Run the CI/CD infrastructure production environment to be highly available, reliable, and secure.




• Manage the services and tools that provide the foundation for an intuitive and engaging developer experience to increase Tableau developer productivity and product quality.




• Operationalize enterprise grade services with a cloud-first mindset. On-call duty is an important aspect of the job.




• Coach and mentor a team of skilled engineers to collaborate, partner, grow, and deliver customer value.




• Manage and align resourcing across the team to deliver on the vision, values, methods, and measures.




• Partner, collaborate, and problem solve with teams across the company to deliver on the Integration Experience vision.




• Represent and be accountable for all aspects of the CI Infrastructure experience to leadership, partners, and to your team.

Who you are...

• Leader. History of engineering leadership with a focus on operations and developer productivity systems.




• Skilled Manager. Excellent staff management and organizational skills. Domain Expert. Demonstrated ability in data engineering, data science and web development.




• Technical. You have knowledge of Automation and Cloud Technologies; CI environments, including tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Perforce; and Database technology.




• Performer: Excellent work ethic; self-directed and resourceful; self-starter who acts with initiative and is pro-active. Deep experience as a coach and mentor providing strategic leadership to the team and partnership across the organization, with 10+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years of people management experience.




• Role Model: Demonstrated excellence in communication, collaboration, learning, and empathy leading to committed, impactful, and aligned teams.




• Education. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
