Your Role:

Responsibilities of this position will include development of new business in the areas of environmental and solid waste engineering. This position will also include management of projects in those areas and involve client relations, proposal development and cross selling of services.


  • Focus on growing environmental and solid waste business in Illinois and Indiana using our current relationships as well as your own.
  • A point of contact for clients and for maintaining a positive relationship with clients.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and help direct work for multi-project clients, and multiple clients.
  • Prepare key proposals, including the development of technical plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Help support strategic initiatives for continued work with key clients and business sectors.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary engineering projects including budgets, schedules, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare designs, reports, and permit applications for environmental and solid waste projects.
  • Direct the work of others and maintain the quality control on projects and on administrative tasks.
  • Manage multiple smaller company priorities and projects.
  • Work at landfills, contaminated sites, and/or other sites where heavy equipment, contamination, or other health hazards may exist.
  • Evaluate performance and status of the technical staff, recommend changes in staff positions.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the solid waste or related field.
  • Professional Engineering certification or license in Illinois
  • Demonstrated skills to assess client needs, develop staff capabilities and help manage and grow engineering services.
  • Established client relationships in the solid waste or a related field
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to think and act critically and strategically.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Regulatory experience required; upper Midwest, specifically Illinois experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with computer usage for document preparation including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively conduct work remotely and travel for project and client needs.
