Sales Agronomist
Summary: This position is responsible for making sound agronomic recommendations to our customers regarding seed, crop nutrients and crop protection products and the sale of the same agronomy products along with custom application and precision ag services.
Location: Trimont, MN
Five Key Roles:
Sales Growth
Prospect, build and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers
Make sound product and services recommendations to customers to improve their operation
Enhance vendor relationships and implement programs in the sales area with focus on growing the overall sales of the Agronomy division
Value Creation
Represent yourself as a problem solver to provide value added solutions for customers
Establish and implement business and marketing solutions with customers
Help coordinate and oversee the marketing of all agronomy sales and services
Customer Acquisition & Concentration
Continually gather and monitor information on competition and market trends
Communicate with Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager to develop and enhance the performance of the agronomy division
Develop and lead the implementation of strategic marketing plans to enhance market share
Develop regular sales call strategies with assigned customers and prospects
Customer Relationships
Provide superior service to both current and existing customers
Resolve all issues in both the company's and the customer best interest
Profile and target key customers to attain achievable growth through increased market share by implementing marketing programs set by agronomy management
Professional Development
Possess and maintain knowledge of agronomy related products/programs and the agronomy industry
Attend meetings, training, professional development and continuing education opportunities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn other key operational computer programs
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Strong analytical and decision making abilities
Ability to remain goal-driven in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills including multi-tasking, planning, and prioritizing
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver's license
Meet the driver qualification standards set by the self-insured group in which the cooperative is a member
Pre-employment drug testing required
Comply with Cooperative Drug and Alcohol Policy
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited related program. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
CCA Certification desired
Demonstrated experience understating customers' unique problems and determining the best fit for their needs
Agricultural background desirable
