Job Title: Control Tower Data Analyst

Job Location: Torrance, CA

We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Tower Data Analyst to perform data analysis, reporting, for a large strategic within the Operational Excellence Center (OEC) Control Tower team. The Data Analyst monitors a variety of key performance indicators. In addition, the analyst will performs and coordinates assigned duties to help providing solutions that will meet or exceed the requirements of internal/external customers. This position will be based at the customer location in Torrance, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure high quality of data and information, including close collaboration with visibility solutions and providers to achieve uninterrupted data inflows and outflows


• Clearly communicate issues to the OEC team and to customers


• Liaison between the OEC team and customer in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, correction of process breakages, and resolution of data integrity issues


• Drive, adopt and enforce best practices in reporting tools, thereby instilling standard reporting suites for use by the OEC team in weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reviews


• Manage data needs of the OEC team and customer including data collection, analysis, high-quality reporting, and strategic data-based continuous improvement recommendations


• Respond to time-critical ad hoc requests and participate in report design, administration, maintenance, fine-tuning, and data reconciliation


• Prepare accurate and meaningful qualitative and quantitative reports, analyses and briefs for various internal and external stakeholders


• Work with large amounts of data for processing and distribution to other systems and / or departments, including to / from various internal and external sources


• Understand data relationships, make observations, draw conclusions and effectively communicate same


• Provide solutions / analytical support for implementation of strategic projects as assigned to the OEC team.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of DHL’s business applications, standard Microsoft software (particularly Excel), and business processes including third party and in-house developed applications


• Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of deliverables


• Ability to independently prepare, interpret, and present information from various types of sources


• Ability to anticipate desired views to form meaningful conclusions or flag impending potential issues based on data


• Ability to identify and resolve problematic areas and trends in data


• Ability to develop graphs, reports, and presentations


• Ability to work as effectively independently as with a team


• Ability to strictly adhere to deadlines and to work with minimal supervision and direction


• Minimum 2-3 years of logistics/supply chain experience preferred


• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in data management


• Excellent interpersonal and verbal / written communications skills, including strong follow through capabilities
