Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking hourly Engineer Technician - Process Automation to staff positions at our Indiana Harbor facility. Cleveland-Cliffs is a leader in employee safety, quality, and productivity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Broad technical experience working on computers, networks, control systems including PLC and loop controllers, instrumentation, and a host of specialty field devices.
Installing, troubleshooting and repair, process troubleshooting using automation.
Participating on projects for improvements and upgrades, etc.
Software back-ups, preventative maintenance, spares management and report writing.
Conduct training for craft and operations employees.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Be 18 or older and have legal right to work in the U.S.
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent degree.
Successfully passed the ISA CCST Level 2 Exam (Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society - Certified Control Systems Technician)
Work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required. Shift work may encompass 8, 10, or 12-hour work shifts
Must be willing to work at heights, climb and/or walk on uneven surfaces, and work in extreme heat and cold
Be able to successfully pass all pre-employment testing requirements
Be able to perform essential job duties, successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and a physical exam prior to starting employment
Preferred Requirements:
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with 5 years or experience as a Maintenance Technician Electrical; or
Equivalent degree and 7 years or experience as a Maintenance Technician Electrical.
Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
