Key Responsibilities
The position of Collection Manager is responsible for overseeing the collection efforts of the accounts receivable balances for 3 subsidiaries of Systemax.
The Collection Manager is also responsible for the supervision of the collection staff located in Buford, GA and the Dominican Republic .
In addition, the Manager will work closely with outside Collection Agencies as well as assisting with collections for Global Industrial largest and most sensitive customer accounts.
This position will also work closely with the Director in respect to Bankruptcies and audit requests.
Responsibilities:.
Develop and administer collection department programs.
Mentor and coach collection department employees to ensure the collection department meets set financial goals.
Manage all accounts receivable activities such as handling high level escalations, negotiating with past due accounts, and referring accounts to collection agencies.
Monitor all ineligibles and initiate call blitz to make sure all customers with balances in aging buckets are contacted by the collection team.
Interface with customers and internal departments in order to monitor and ensure that payments are received in accordance with assigned credit terms and business initiatives.
Negotiate settlement of problem accounts within assigned guidelines.
5+ years of collection experience in the Industrial Supply industry highly preferred.
5+ year experience in B2B collections.
Previous supervisory position in collections.
Strong leadership attributes.
Reliable, professional demeanor with excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Excellent judgement and decision making ability.
Knowledge of PCS software highly preferred.
Knowledge of commercial projects, lien waivers and construction payment applications.
Must possess a strong knowledge of MS Word and Excel and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
