The Actuarial Analyst is an introductory level job for someone who either has strong potential for or has demonstrated a strong understanding and acumen for actuarial concepts. Some prior professional experience is helpful but not required, so long as potential has been demonstrated through the passing of actuarial examinations. An Actuarial Analyst is expected to be highly self-motived but will require occasional supervision and guidance. This job is responsible for accurately analyzing dental experience and other analysis, including (but not limited to) forecasting, reserving, fee development and financial and client reporting.

How you will make an impact:


  • Performs comprehensive analysis ranging from client-specific to global (book of business) using experience from datasets of low to moderate size or complexity.

  • Prepares and presents analysis, reports or documents to support actuarial analysis to internal customers.

  • Advises and provides guidance on actuarial reporting to internal customers.

  • Creates reports and analyzes data to identify solutions that meet business goals.

  • Analyzes current processes and identifies existing or potential problems in order to discover new process improvement opportunities.

  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related field is preferred.

  • 2 years of experience or completion of at least one actuarial examination is required for applicants without relevant work experience.

  • Strong skills in Excel and SQL knowledge preferred.

  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills are required.

  • Advanced mathematics knowledge is required.

  • Organizational and time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities are required.

  • Candidate must be detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
