Position Summary:

Regal is seeking an energetic leader as a Distribution Center Supervisor for our growing business. In this role, they will be responsible for creating and completing continuous improvement projects and enhancing productivity across all three shifts. In this role they will also serve as the site safety leader responsible for coordinating environmental and health/safety activities, tracking safety metrics as well as providing safety training for the site . This position will be based out of Plainfield, IN and they will oversee a wide variety of logistics activities including: overseeing picking, packing, shipping and receiving of goods, provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Champions Regal Business System (RBS) by setting example for committed and data driven deployment of continuous improvement methodology. Specifically, developing transformational roadmap, action plan, associate engagement and daily management tools that execute strategic initiatives.
  • Directs the daily activities of the warehouse department, this is mainly a 1 st shift position but must be able to work all shifts to cover and train, implements policies and procedures to ensure the shipment of products in planned quantities, at budgeted cost, and of desired quality. Ensures all safety procedures are followed and metrics met.
  • Liaisons with functional or operational area manager to understand current and future shipment needs and develops plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing activities.
  • Ensures communication channels are effective with multiple business leaders and functional leadership (e.g. Human Resources, Quality, Supply Chain, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Sales). Ensures strong relationship between Supply Chain and its customers to drive total cost productivity through operational excellence, standardization and consolidation.
  • Ensures products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required. Focuses on continuous improvement of shipment and processes while monitoring speed, cost, quality and safety metrics.
  • Optimizes the talent within the organizational structure and fosters an environment to promote individual and team growth and career development goals. Attracts, develops and retains employees capable of sustaining our position as the leader in customer service and delivery.
  • Implements policies and procedures to ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost reduction goals are achieved for the overall facility.
  • Proactively coordinate with various business divisions to ensure that customers are being serviced according to expectation.
  • Responsible for operating within budget and monitors the cost and effectiveness of distribution activities to optimize resources, prioritizes spending, and achieve volume, quality, and distribution standards. Provides supervision and guidance to distribution and/or 1st shift Warehouse Team.
  • Coordinates all safety initiatives and programs (Safety Training, Safety committee etc.) for warehouse employees.
  • Drives continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self-assessments and audit processes; incident/near miss investigations; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture, and talent.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent related experience
  • 4 years manufacturing, shipping or warehouse value stream or fulfillment node experience
  • Knowledge of environmental/safety regulations and policies
  • Lean, Six Sigma or relevant certification preferred
  • Strong critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong Microsoft office and PC skills with ability to analyze data and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs.
  • Aptitude for teambuilding and employee engagement.
  • Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented, process improvement focused.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve outstanding results.
  • Experience using ERP Systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position is done in a Warehouse environment typically indoors but may require access to outdoors for work at times. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use fingers and hands, handle or feel controls or product; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product. Frequently lifting/moving up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. is required. This position also requires a person to handle different temperatures as the Warehouse is hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. This position may also a person to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours.
